What to see in Limassol
Limasol (in Greek, λεμεσός, lemesós; in Turkish, Leymosun; in Armenian, լիմասոլ) is the second largest city in Cyprus and the capital of the district of Limasol. According to the 2011 census, it has a population of 101,000 inhabitants.
It is located on the southern coast of the country, in the Bay of Akrotiri. Limasol was built between two ancient cities, amatunte and curio, so during the Byzantine empire it was known as Neapolis (new city).
It is one of the most important ports for trade in the Mediterranean Sea. From this, Limasol has become the main tourist, commercial and service provider of the area. This city is renamed its great cultural tradition. A wide variety of activities and a large number of museums and archaeological sites are available for visitors.
